Spot Cleaning Commercial Carpets

When your carpet gets stained, you should always be prepared for what to do next. Make sure you always have a carpet cleaning solution on hand in case of an emergency. Have some white cloths on hand, also. Try to work quickly when dealing with a liquid carpet stain. You are less likely to have a permanent stain of you can remove it quickly.

For liquid stains, blot inward with the clean, dry, white cloth or plain white paper towels. Remove as much of the liquid as possible. Put your cleaning solution on your cloth, not on your carpet. Blot the stain, but do not scrub, as this will harm the pile of your carpet and make a permanent spot. Start from the outside of the stain and work your way in to keep from spreading the stain. If you have transfer of the staining liquid onto your white cloth, then you are successful in removing the stain. Keep repeating the solution/blotting process until the stain is completely gone.

Make sure you rinse the area with water to remove all of the cleaning solution. If you fail to do this, the dried cleaning solution can attract dirt to the spot where you removed the stain.
